Children
Sunday School
Janet Joyner teaches our children in Sunday School every week. She is always prepared to not only teach them the Bible but also has crafts and games that supplement the lesson. Children are taught how to be mission-minded and missional in her class as they always put together backpacks for the Appalachian Back Pack Ministry and OCC. In addition, they take up an offering every week and use that money to help support various charities our church supports. Miss Janet typically has two parties a year for her Sunday School class, one at Christmas and on in the summer. They take place on Saturdays and last the majority of the day. We are very fortunate and blessed to have Sammy and Janet to minister to our children.

VBS
Every year, our church hosts VBS. Through the years, we have had some children accept Christ during the week of VBS. It is always a fun-filled week. We would not be able pull this off without the support of our entire church, especially the directors. They ensure a successful VBS every year and we give credit to God for the number of children that show up to hear the Gospel. Our VBS occurs in the evenings the second week of July. The pictures to the left are from our VBS in 2019. For more information, contact our church.
Due to COVID-19, our VBS could not be held this year. Therefore, we did a virtual VBS with a few children. Our directors did songs, crafts and the most important part SNACKS!!! The videos below are on our YouTube channel also.
Each year during VBS, we take up a collection all week for the Baptist Children's Home of NC located in Kinston. You can access their website with this link https://www.bchfamily.org/ or you can navigate the site without leaving our page as shown below.
Summer Camp
Our church hosts a summer camp each year for children. The children come all day, every day for a week. They are fed lunch and participate in games, outdoor/indoor activities, movie time and Bible lessons. The goal of this is to not only reach children at our church but also those in the community. This facilitates a great ministry to meet the needs of sharing the gospel with children and helps our church get to know the families of the community
Trunk or Treat
Every year on Halloween, we elect to conduct a trunk or treat. This has turned into a fall festival type event. We use this to give children in our community and church an opportunity to celebrate in a safe place. Members decorate their "trunks" and help setup games and activities for the children to do. We feed everyone hotdogs prior to starting. This has encouraged people to visit us and we enjoy the opportunity to minister to others, especially the children.
